Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret (seen in the picture with their Grandmother Queen Mary) join the BBC's 'Children's Hour' to address evacuated children throughout Britain and the Commonwealth. This was Princess Elizabeth's (now Queen Elizabeth II) first speech (1940).
