The BBC's Big Read

In April 2003 the BBC's Big Read began the search for the UK's best-loved novel, and asked Britons to nominate their favourite books. Along the way somebody - nobody knows who exactly - has edited the list including more modern books. Now a facebook page is dedicated to it and it is making the rounds of other social network sites. It has become hugely popular because it has become a personality test or a way to impress friends and contacts with your extensive reading prowess. That facebook page claims that the BBC has estimated that most people have only read six out of the 100 books but how many adaptations have they seen?
